Great White Walls - new full length.

I did it again. I wonder sometimes why this thing exists. These musics have been made in such a drawn out period I wonder if they have any coherence. But I'm sure they're winter's child; they're the products of a lack of warmth, the inspiration of walls of clouds and faroff winds and tornado sirens. And so on. It's a style I've always wanted to carry out to its farthest point, its frightening, logical conclusion. And I guess this is it. Some songs (Sensory, Convey, Kein Denkmal) are really massive, rupturing with feedback, lose notes, fragmented chords. Some songs (Last Years, Senseless) have a subtleness to them that I like in their poignancy. They're like little kids, after a fire. They don't have a lot to say. But that doesn't change anything.

But as to its coherence, that's for you to judge. It's music, in one sense of the word.

Toothless Glow - New Full Length

Well, this is it. This is the product of a better part of a year. This is ten songs I made slowly and lovingly. It's got a lot of sounds, and I wanted to make a point of putting a lot of sounds in there. I don't know. A lot of the songs are recycled and chopped from bits of recordings and failed demos I have done over the past year or two; resurrected and rebirthed and realigned from naivite into something a little more...I dunno, listenable. And some are painstakingly arranged tracks that I spent months worrying about.

But that's beyond the point. The point is I made some songs, right? And I'm supposed to tell you about them. They're soft songs, loud songs, vast songs, short songs, and voices, bristling synths, soundscapes of notes dragged out and stretched and simmering. They're fall sounds, autumn sounds. I guess you would call it electronic, but I wouldn't want to dance to it. I wouldn't think to it, either. I like do the opposite to it. I hope you might too.

Glasslung - Causeway (New EP)

This is how I spent most of my summer, when I wasn't working for the man. When I could get the time to sit down and put on some headphones and record sounds, then spent hours tweaking them, turning knobs, adding filters, splicing layers. And all around just staring at a computer screen. It's music that emulates the process, to my mind; it's music that I lose myself in listening to as much as I do in making it. If that makes any sense. I hope you find yourself lost somewhere in these 22 minutes of ambient noise, four-note guitar drones, fuzzed-out bass drizzles, what have you. Those are just words. These are sounds:

Factories (New EP, free download)

Factories is a little bit. It's four long songs that sound really bleak, industrial, dry, sad, I don't know. I just threw them together. I kind of had in mind that I wanted to expand on the suburban/industrial/highway sounding theme of Perish, but like times a million. It's inspired by a lot of late night drives home from friends' houses, a lot of quiet nights with cars passing by and birds waking up and sirens and alarms and dogs braying. It was all made from cell phone interference, ambient noise from machines, an utterly ancient yamaha keyboard, recycled bits from songs I was workin on when I was barely 15. Not a lot to it, I think. It's music.

Canicule Garden / Moth Traces (two new eps)

These two latest releases were a bit of a continuation of a creative tradition of mine. After I put out a full length, I like to quickly throw together some songs and throw them out there. This took it a little further. This time I knew I wanted to make an ep of sunny, lush, twinkling summer songs, along with a dark, noisy, gritty ep. And that's all there is to Canicule Garden and Moth Traces.
